Elifelet awarded the Special Mention of the Human Rights Prize of the French Republic, July 2017

Helene Le Gal, the French Ambassador to Israel, awarded the Special Mention of the Human Rights Prize of the French Republic to the Israeli NGO Elifelet - Citizens for Refugee Children, at a special ceremony held at her official residence in Tel Aviv-Jaffa on July 4, 2017.

The Prize is awarded to foreign NGOs that promote the values of liberty, equality and fraternity outside of the borders of France. Elifelet- Citizens for Refugee Children, was awarded Special Mention in the category "Defense and Protection of Migrants" for its projects protecting children at risk by reason of their migrant or asylum seeking status. The NGO, founded by Yaël Gvirtz, and its 200 volunteers help more than 850 refugee children, mostly from Sudan and Eritrea.
